Beyond every perplex, no matter how small, a big surprise...
Behind every confusion is amazement
Behind every astonishment is amazement
Behind all joy is amazement
Behind every birth and sudden death is amazement
Behind every success, every failure, every earthquake and volcano, behind creativity, fireworks, acrobatics and magic… behind everything weird or incomprehensible is amazement…
This startle shimmers in our eyes, as we raise our eyebrows and open our mouths spontaneously, with a bit of shouting.
Usually, amazement is the result of a supernatural, extraordinary and unforeseen event. In other meaning, the surprise does not fade until we know the truth.
This leads us to a conclusion that amazement is sudden. It happens when the brain declares its inability to comprehend or loss of control. When the brain surrenders to the fact that it is witnessing an extraordinary event, amazement happens.
Amazement for philosophers is something different. They explain it as the “spark of creativity”, which can only be witnessed by wise and creative people who evaluate what they see.
Wise people do not stop at the amazement of the grandeur of universe and the mysteries of life and existence. Their amazement is paired with knowledge, produced by research and meditation.
Between the absence of mind and its strong presence lies the idea of (God) as the ultimate amazement that does not fade or back down until the end of life.
Here we dare to ask: is there anything that still amazes us? Is the amazement constant in the past and present? Is the amazement true? Is humanity the truth?
If we raise some questions and surrender to the bewilderment, where would our minds go, in the light of the fluctuations and developments of life?
For example, science turned the world into a small village, where we travel and visit as we remain in our places. This is not amazement anymore.
I am not amazed or surprised to be able to talk to someone in china or have a conversation with someone who is on the other side of the world.
I am not amazed or surprised to see a talking robot, acting in knowledge and passion, or cloning or transplanting a heart of a person to bring him back to life.
Ignorance and nonchalance are also the reason why amazement is fading away.
We stand indifferent in front of the killing and burning, destruction and invasion, oppression and intellectual and moral abuse. It is not a surprise anymore of man preys on man.
Yes, a question imposes itself: is there any amazement left?
I am afraid there will come a day when amazement will be gone.
Today everything is possible…we believe what we once used to call “imagination”.
We are bodies without heads…we believe anything without any sense of amazement or surprise
We see our heads on other shoulders, but we keep on walking as if nothing is happening.
We are walking aimlessly…and nothing can save us but God the Almighty…
